Surfing in Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria is a paradise for surfers, with ideal coastal conditions, beautiful beaches with waves and breaks for all levels of surfing, along with the perfect weather for almost the whole year. In details, the island can be divided into two specific sections regarding surfing: the north where the beach of Las Palmas is located and the south with coastlines of Maspalomas y Playa Del Inglés, being perfect these last two for beginners. Now, the best surf spots on the island are: El Confital, a long perfect right-hander for surfers that are experts, with high and fast breaks and the place being so ideal for competitions that surfing championships have been celebrated there; while El Faro, which is a less demanding spot in the island, specifically in the south on the Playa del Inglés beach is ideal for beginners with short waves that are much more manageable and for learning.
